Issue 003 June 2007
Hello again to all those who venerate the name of Shilloo. As you may have noticed, we skipped the May edition of this newsletter. This was not done in a flippant manner but for a few important reasons:
1. We have been very busy working on 2 songs which we are finally going to record; which leads us to…
2. We had no gigs in May, mainly due to 1.
Anyway, now we're back. Missed us much?
:: Previously, on Newsletter… ::
April's gigs were both brilliant, in different ways. The MMSA Masquerade Ball was a roaring success, with a pumping crowd and excellent feedback. Our performance was greatly helped by the MMSA party vibe, as well as the copious amounts of booze present. Our gig at Alley was a more sophisticated polished affair, which happily introduced us to a few new faces in the crowd, as well as the REM Tribute Band Stipe who were quite a pleasant bunch, and seemed to be favourably impressed by our set. Anyway, enough with the nostalgia, let's look forward…
:: gigs ::
At present we have one gig planned for June, although some other possible gigs may be announced later.
Saturday 9th June
Poxx Bar
On the 9th we shall be teaming up with Eve Ransom for some double entertainment at Poxx Bar in Paceville. Expect a mainly original set, with a few loved covers which we know you will enjoy. We've revamped some of our songs, so keep your ears on the alert for some new sounds.
Doors open at 9p.m. Eve Ransom will be kicking off the night, and Shilloo's Tree will be following, so come early, and stay on till late. Entrance is Lm2, and you will be given one free drink on entry.
:: projects ::
Finally something useful to put in this section…at last we are entering the studio on Monday the 4th of June to begin recording 2 numbers, these being Waiting For Your Smile and Expression. We shall be recording at Doyaya Studios, with the expert help of Boris Cezek. We'd like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Boris for the help he's given us so far.
Also, at an as yet undecided date, we shall be recording another of our songs for the DivisionMalta compilation. The song we chose for this compilation is Chanson Du F.
To those of you who have no idea what these songs sound like, we say Don't worry. Just join us at Poxx Bar; we'll be playing these and more.
The website may eventually materialise, to be honest, we've been focusing on the songs for now. However, in its absence, we have put up a myspace page which contains all the info you should need and will soon have our songs playing.
:: finally… ::
We've still got our stickers lying around, so anyone who doesn't have one (in blue or green) can ask us for one at our gigs. Stick them on your car, bike, coffin or grandmother…we don't care as long as they show.
Please visit our myspace page and add us as friends; it gives us a huge ego boost to see the numbers rise.
