"At this point in the rant I am beginning to hallucinate and hear voices from staring at this godforsaken computer screen for way too long. However, before I depart, I must dedicate some space to a local short I found rather impressive. "A Very Sunny Morning" is an intriguing 12 minutes of off center meandering through a sort of public access sitcom mixed with a healthy dose of dream state dementia. The film is the creation of one Eric Carter, a Green Bay native who has seen his little baby garner all manner of attention. I caught this odd confection at this year's Wildwood Film Festival, where it managed to snag the Best of Experimental honor. Since then, Carter and his flick have nailed spots at such festivals as Toronto After Dark and the Portland Underground Film Fest, as well as slots on the Independent Film Channel and, most significantly, our very own Ned the Dead's Chiller Theater.
Next up for this busy short is partaking in the 63rd Art Annual Juried Exhibit at the Neville Public Museum in bustling Green Bay. The opening night reception will run from 6-8 p.m. on Dec. 7, or just catch it at the exhibit between Dec. 8 and Feb. 27, 2008.
