I recently received this message. In my opinon, in order for us to move forward and change this situation, some level of dialogue is vital. Whether you agree with this person or not, please be respectful with your comments and only offer constructive arguements. The apartheid in South Africa was partly broken by movements of young white activists who saw the truth and stood up to their own government. This was effective because to the racist opressors  in power, the opinion of a white South African was worth more than anyone else's. Using this same logic, one of the ways we can save Palestinian lives and effect change is to enlist the help of as many Israeli citizens as possible. We must give them the oppurtunity to see the truth, in all it's purity. Then, once free from the influence of identity or faith they must objectively choose where they stand for the good of all humanity.

"Lowkey,
I'd just like to say I honestly appreciate the work you are doing for peace and for human rights and I completely relate to that, I have done a lot of raising awareness for Darfur and Tibet in particular but I'm a Zionist and a Jew. Please don't stop reading here because even if our people can't make peace I'd like to hold my hand out at least. The reason I'm writing is to show you that Israel's supporters are supporters of evil and hurtship of your people. I was rallying for peace for Gaza and Israel on Sunday and I got shouted at by a counter demonstration against the Israeli rally "Shame on you", which was ignoring the "PEACE FOR GAZA AND ISRAEL" placard I was holding when ultimately it was the message on the placard I care about.

I just would like you to understand that I also absolutely appreciate the plight of the Palestinian people. I care vastly for their humanitarian needs and it breaks my heart that the fighting has to go through your people to get to Hamas. It is a huge concern for me that their welfare is looked after. The daily 3 hour aid shipping into Gaza is hugely important in my support of Israel and I really want that to continue and increase, and ultimately I 100% Support your right to your own homeland next to ours and I am a staunch believer in the 2 state solution.

But I just want to express to you that there are people in Sderot that are suffering from shelling from Hamas. Not Palestinian civilians (Hamas's human shields) but from Hamas. When I campaign for Israel, I am campaigning against Hamas and not your innocent people, as I want the rockets into Sderot, Ashkelon etc. to stop from Hamas.

There's absolutely no need for the violence. Here we have a situation where each side keep fighting, terrorism from Hamas is responded with more fighting and it's tragic, but I want you to know that whilst I want immediate peace, I feel ultimately Hamas is to blame for the suffering on both sides, and I would genuinely love it if you acknowledged this.

I am 18 years old now and next year I'm going to Israel for my gap year and will be working with Palestinian and Israeli-Arab children in a peace project. I absolutely support your right for your own land next to ours, and I am going to actively hold out my hand to as many of your people as possible.

The reason I want to say all of this is because I feel it's easy to say the enemy is evil, but I just want you to know, as someone who loves the music you make with Mongrel in particular, that we want the prosperity of your people and for our people to be in peace.

There's an Israeli song we sing that goes

Od yavo' shalom aleinu
Od yavo' shalom aleinu
Od yavo' shalom aleinu
Ve al kulam (x2)
Salaam (Salaam)
Aleinu ve al kol ha olam,
Salaam, Salaam (x2)

Peace will come upon us
Peace will come upon us
Peace will come upon us
and on everyone.
Salaam
On us and on everyone
Salaam, Salaam

We want peace, the same as you. Please accept this. Israel is not necessarily evil it breaks my heart to see the suffering of Israeli's ignored and the labeling of Israelis as evil. Help me to kill terrorism for good, Lowkey. I hope you took the time to read this, and hope you can accept what I'm saying if it made sense to you. Please don't ignore it if you read, and let me know what you think I am ALWAYS willing to listen to the other side of the arguement. I hope you appreciate some rationality from the other side and I hope you haven't had any insulting or offensive comments from any Pro-Israelis.

Thanks."

Okay, so he's Jewish, but zionism is an ideology which is based on the advancement of one people due to the suffering of others, so him marching doesn't make sense. But cool. Good to see more support.

I respect the way he's trying to approach for peace, but at the end of the day, he's a zionist, and what the Arabs want is for the state of Israel not to be there, or else why are people ready to die for their country if they're only gonna have a piece of it. & I don't like the bit he says Hamas are using civilians as human shields, he just seems to be reiterating what he hears in the Isreali media/surroundings.

I would like to commend this person in his recognition of human beings and the rights they consequently deserve, namely their right to live freely and their right to a home.....I would also like to know whether this person is well informed. Does he retrieve his information from a variety of sources or simply absorb what's broadcast on terrestrial news? ...Because i honestly can't understand what he's talking about campaigning for Israel. Israel claim they are in a war, surely in a war there are casualties? And actually, 13 in 2 weeks of 'war' is a pretty low number, in fact the Israelis are doing reeaaallllyy well when you compare that with ACTUAL war.. what we are speaking of here is Genocide, the massacre of a very large number of people belonging to a particular race. And what kind of person campaigns FOR genocide?!...apart from zionists.....Also, if this person were well informed as to the creation of the state of Israel he would realise that zionists have absolutely NO right to that land. It belongs to the people who were native to it prior to the end of WW2. It belongs to Palestinians (please note that when i say Palestinian i mean Palestinian, not Muslim) and NOT the Jews of Europe. They literally flooded into Palestine and murdered, MASSACRED and drove the Palestinians out. The UNRWA report at least 1.7 million Palestinian refugees in the Middle East to date...and despite what the Israeli government would have us believe, they didn't just go for a stroll and decide not to come back.......Pertaining to the 3 hours a day comment, what exactly does he think happens in these 3 hours a day? Life goes back to normal for these people?????..There is no food, no water, no medical supplies, no fuel, no schools, no universities, no mosques..the Israelis have seen to that. So in these 3 hours a day (if that) people queue for bread that isn't there, children play with smouldering phospherous material that the Israelis throw on them, they mourn and they pull their loved ones out from rubble in PIECES...So yes, we're all extremely grateful for those 3 hours.....This person may perhaps benefit from learning the chronology of the situation, then it might become clear to him that first came the zionists and then (a loooonngg time later) came Hamas. Hamas are a direct result of Israeli tyranny. The Palestinians have looked to the world for 60 years to help them recover their homes and their dignity, and what have the world done? They've sighed and cried, drafted USELESS resolutions and paid for the bullets...Palestinians are tired of waiting for nothing, and so some have decided to stand up and fight for themselves because nobody else will evidently. And what do they fight with? The military equivalent of fireworks.....Perhaps this person should take a moment to sit back and consider who the terrorist really is...When one of the most technologically advanced nations in the world bombards a 41 x 9km strip comprised of impoverished families by air, sea and land, who is the terrorist?..When they cut off their food, water and fuel and take away their political voice then who is the terrorist?..When they fail to discriminate between children and 'armed fighters'...When they build huge, impenetrable walls around a vast group of people and guard them 24 hours a day, who then is the terrorist?..Gaza is one big work camp...except there's no work, there's only the systematic annihilation of the people inside.....Consequently, i suggest to this person that the solution is not the removal of Hamas but the removal of the zionist government, it's supporters, the walls, the siege and the soldiers who shoot Palestinian children......."I care vastly for their humanitarian needs and it breaks my heart that the fighting has to go through your people to get to Hamas."....Has to? HAS TO? Will somebody please explain to me why this GREAT humanitarian believes that horrific massacre of women and children are a necessity???..I suggest that the time this person spends campaigning for Israel would be better spent praying for his soul.....I am sick of listening to lies and distorted, illogical rubbish from zionists. All I and the rest of the world want to hear from them is remorse.

Ok ... so Hamas has started all this? I think not, this has been going on for years and years and Hamas is just an excuse to go into Gaza. Israel are proud of the amount of pain they have given Palestine. They take pictures with their kills. Under 20 people have died in Israel .. Over 500 have died in Palestine...Nothing can amount. You can't even compare the rates of injuries alone. Whats a ZIONIST Jew? They're jews that want Palestine out of the map, so Israel becomes its own territory. Fine they want peace, for their own people though not our brothers and sisters. They dont care how they kill us, how they torture us, the more we cry the more they bomb... and they still have the guts to blame us. Israeli suffering is shown on CNN and SKY NEWS.. 1 sided media.. (part of BOYCOTT ISRAEL) ... this aint no one sided world ... we speak the truth. And israel have brought it upon themselves, their sick in the head for what their doing .. NO EXCUSE CAN EVER SUM UP THE LIVES OF THE CHILDREN THAT HAVE BEEN TAKEN AWAY ... their not hamas, their like me and u, only much much much more innocent. The message didnt even make me tweak a muscle, as a matter of fact it made me angry... as somehow its always hamas's fault or a somehow a fault linked into Palestine? What about the fault of Israel? Their not innocent, far from it love.

Respect to this brother for putting his views peacefully, seems a decent human-being..blessings to him.....I'm not one for writing essays outside of my degree, so I'll make a few points for you to research.....A. The Hama's using Palestinian's as human-shields is a rumour that hasn't actually had any evidence...B. Israel was the first to break the ceasefire. (I'm not condoning the violence here)...C. Israeli troops are using white phosphorus. This is against UN Regulations.....I'm also kinda confused about the whole thing about Israel giving leaflets to civilians, different news networks report these to have different messages...some suggest it just states that Israel will soon step-up their "mission" to achieve their "targets".....http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=region®ionId=7....Respect for the peaceful message, I'll probably be back with a few more points, but I have a headache.

This may appear to be a case of a peaceful supporter of Israel but look a little closer and you see that there is no real difference between his stance and the Zionist stance of the Israeli government. Firstly, how many rocket launched attacks did Israel suffer during the lead up to this latest illegal invasion of Gaza? The answer is none! Every rocket launched by the democratically elected Hamas, landed in illegally occupied Palestine. Type in Sderot into Wikipedia and you will find that this oh so democratic sounding apologist for Israeli atrocities, has failed to tell you that Sderot was built illegally, on the site of the Palestinian village of Najd, and that the villagers were driven out, violently from their homes, after which the village was raised to the ground. This regurgitator of Netanyahu's venomous bile, also mentions Ashkelon. Or al-Majdal, as it was peacefully known until the Israeli army, ironically, shelled and air raided it, repeatedly, until the population fled, again, ironically, to Gaza. Over 80 per cent of the Arab inhabitants of the area that 'became' Israel fled their towns and villagers. Fears of a repeat of the Deir Yassin massacre caused many to leave out of panic, whilst most of those who remained were expelled by Israeli soldiers or, later, the Israeli government. A series of laws passed by the the very first Israeli government prevented them from returning to their homes or reclaiming their property. They and many of their descendants remain refugees to this day. At the Lausanne Conference, Israel proposed that just 100,000 of the 650,000 refugees, could be allowed back to the area, though not necessarily to their homes. This proposal was conditional on Israel being allowed to keep every yard of land that it had taken. I could list you around 500 places that our learned friend now regards as being his to defend. Both he and his government have rebranded and renamed until the younger generation know not of their existence. But the people of Palestine, now relocated in Gaza, thanks to the Jackboot Conscience of the Israeli army, will never forget. Hamas will remain strong only whilst you remain foolish. Long live Hamas! Long live Palestine!

One thing is for sure.. Israel shouldn't be in Palestine in the first place. There should be no such thing called Israel. Israel is doing its thing illegally...
....The fact that this 18 year old is trying to blame Hamas is insane. You should always look at a problem from its roots, then work your way up. This means don't blame Hamas. Blame yourselves for putting yourselves in a position which you are in now. If your really after peace, then you shouldn't be supporting Israel in any way, shape, or form. Israel, like the USA and certain other countries, are the terrorists, NOT the arabs/middle east/muslim people.....
....Israel are trying to build their country in a place where they are not welcome. I don't understand it. Peace will only ever arrive in the middle east if Israel leave. Israel are the reason to why many, many, muslims are suffering. Israel are the reason millions of innocent lives have been taken, why millions of families destroyed, why muslims are being treated unfairly all over the world. I could go on all day. Israel is a criminal state. And you Israeli's/Zionist will NOT get away with this. You are fighting a battle in which you will ultimately lose. ..
