In my desire to give away books AND to post excerpts, I asked for
entries in this game. I just used a random number generator to pick 6 ppl to receive books.

No joke. The random gen picked SIX. (Here's the one I use http://www.random.org/)
Will
all 6 of you, pls email me at melissa AT melissa-marr.com ? Tell me
which book of these--UNBOUND (an adult antho--so you must be over 16),
HALF MINUTE HORRORS (middle grade antho), INK EXCHANGE, or FRAGILE
ETERNITY--you want me to send to you.
In your email, I need a
name, mailing address, & if you would like me to sign your book (if
so, to what name or if you want it without a name, just a signature).
PART 2Next
I needed to pick the 3 I'd draw quotes from. I skipped the gen on this
bc one of the random gen numbers was 6 . . . which I took as a sign
that I should choose it AND that this was a wise contest. :)
Request from entry #6 is a paragraph from RADIANT SHADOWS pg 2
Devlin
leaped forward to catch her and knelt on the ground, arms empty—as her
ethereal form settled inside of his skin. He couldn’t hold the
insubstantial, but she apparently could take residence in his body as
if it were her own.
And the requested passage for #35 is "Stopping Time" pg 12
Then the reality of how easily she could sanction violence made her pause. That, she thought, is exactly why I can’t come back to either of you. She forced the thought aside. Friendship was all she could have with them, and even that was tenuous. She
kept barriers in place: no speaking to Irial, no seeing Niall, and no
touching either one of them. At first, she’d thought she could put them
in her past and that they would forget about her, and maybe someday
they would reach that point.
And the requested passage for #35 is "Stopping Time" pg 20
Leslie,
he called, hoping that the thread that bound them was still alive
enough to let her hear him. Once in a while a fleeting moment of
connection flared in it. He’d felt her panic. Now he needed to feel her, to know where she was. He called louder, LESLIE.
The thread that once bound them lay silent.
SHADOWS will release in the US & Canada April 2010. The short story "Stopping Time" will release in March/April (for free).
Ok, off to watch the deer & the birds that are hanging out in my yard . . . and well, write.
Thanks for playing : )
