....We had a winner on Monday night for the "Guess the Score" contest. Jason Joswiak has been coming in for the past few years and on Monday, his beloved Vikings defeated the Saints by a score of 30-27, which he correctly predicted would happen before the game began. Jason was generous with the people around him and he walked out a winner with a check for $1,000 in his hands. We have posted a picture of Lindsey, Jason and Scott following his Monday night triumph. Congratulations Jason.
The "Guess the Score" contest is something that we do for our customers every Monday and it is free to play. This was, in fact, the second consecutive week that someone picked the final score. Last week, a gentleman predicted that the score to the Steelers/Ravens Monday night game would be tied at 20 at the end of the 4th quarter and that the Ravens would win 23-20. Amazingly, the game was tied as he predicted but the Steelers were the ones who emerged with the victory in overtime.
This past Saturday and Sunday were fast and furious days but one couple stood out to me (for obvious reasons) and I wanted to share their special day with you. David and Melissa are a couple of Cowboys fans who came in to Overtime on Sunday afternoon to watch America's Team play the Cincinnati Bengals. It was their one-year anniversary and they celebrated with us at Overtime with a Cowboys victory. They were very sweet and very generous and after meeting them, they informed us that they had just learned that they were expecting a child. Should that child turn out to be a boy, his name will be....you guessed it....Dallas! Please take a minute to check out their picture, as well as Jason's in our October '08 album. Did I mention that the Cowboys won?
We are now down to our MLB championship series as the Red Sox will face the Rays in the A.L., and the Dodgers will take on the Phillies in the N.L. Could we really see a Fall Classic that pits Manny vs. the Sox? I like the Sox and the Phillies. Please come by to check it out and we'll see ya at game time. $$$$$
