............................................................................................................................................................................................................

Overtime Sports Café invites your restaurant to participate in our service industry battle on Friday, May 1st.  Each restaurant will be represented by 2 contestants (must be 21 or older)who will each perform 1 song and will be judged based on 3 categories :....

1.   Talent and Accuracy....

2.   Appearance and Originality....

3.   Stage Presence....

The winning tandem will be rewarded with a trophy to display in their respective restaurant, a $50 Overtime gift card for each singer, and $300 in cash to the winning team.  The contest will begin at approximately 10:33 pm.  Crowd participation and reaction is not a category, but it doesn’t hurt to have your friends on hand to cheer you on.  In addition, we will provide a $25 gift card apiece to the first runners up, and a choice of either a free appetizer or dessert to each participant in the contest.  Please notify Scott at Overtime if you intend to accept our invitation no later than Tuesday, April 28th.  Should we have an overflow of participants, some may be asked to compete the following week to alleviate time constraints.  Call any time at 843-361-1514.....

Rules & Regulations for the “Battle”....

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Overtime, we are located on Hwy. 17 in North Myrtle Beach on 14th Ave. South.  Our karaoke program will be done on stage with wireless mikes, so contestants have the freedom to roam as they please while the words will be on display on a 10 ft. screen.  For the time being, we are still running on CD’s, so if you have a CD that you would like to use that we do not have available, it is permitted as long as it is CD + G.  Remember, our panel of judges will be looking at accuracy so it is important to have words on display, therefore a burnt CD with no graphics is not acceptable. ....

Each restaurant will be required to have 2 singers participate.  To avoid “ringer” situations, we ask that the employees bring their most recent pay stub or proof of employment so as to avoid any controversy.  We ask that each singer perform a different song.  Please avoid songs with excessive obscenities as we are a family establishment.  ....

Because we are aware of the fact that many restaurants serve late, we are planning to start our contest no earlier than 10:30 but we ask that at least one of the 2 participants be in attendance by 10:15 to sign in.  Although the contest is being run by Scott, he will not be deciding the outcome of the contest.  Three judges will be on hand and will be instructed on the categories with the winners decided by their cumulative score.  In the event of a tie, the judges will be asked to make a final decision.  All decisions will be supported by Overtime and will stand.  Should 1 restaurant want to enter a second team, we would allow that.  We also allow others to participate in such a way as dancing or contributing in a skit, but only 1 singer is permitted.....

To sign up, please call Overtime at 361-1514 and ask to speak to Scott.  He will be able to answer any questions.  If he’s unavailable, PLEASE insist on leaving a phone number and he will gladly return the call.  Should we exceed our team expectations, we may have a second contest the following week to accommodate more participants.  Thank you.....
