The unofficial high note of the night award went to Mandy Poolo of Bolingbrook, who nearly matched Christina Aguileras voice on a version of Beautiful that brought Starr, the bands usual lead singer, to her feet in appreciation.

Poolo shared her secret for hitting high notes.

Honestly, I grew up listening to Mariah Carey, she said. There are a lot of Mariah Carey notes in that song, but I cant sing them all. I took gospel choir vocal classes, and they train you how to use your voice: drink lukewarm water, no acids unless you have a cold. Also, keep your throat warm.
