Current mood:  blessed
Hey guys, it's been a while since any strong updates from Walking Amongst the Dead.  So here's a few.

First of all, as some of you may know, we are currently in Pre-Production of our debut full-length album.  We have yet to decide on a set date to release the album, but we promise you will be hearing more about it very soon.  As you can see on our page, we'll be spending some of late May, along with most of the first half of June, in the studio recording the album.  Again, keep checking back for more updates.

A few exciting things you might like to know about the new record:

-There will be a cover song.  We're very excited to jump on the bandwagon and record a cover song, but we can't tell you which song it is.  Trust us though, it's gonna be great.  =]

-We'll be including the songs that are on our myspace (re recorded), and some new songs as well.  Some of the new songs are the heaviest that we've ever done, some are the prettiest.  In general, however, we won't be "changing" our sound at all.

The next thing we want to talk about:

We're planning on taking a trip to Cornerstone this year.  Since we decided this pretty late in the game, we're not eligible for New Band Showcase, or for many of the pre-registered Generator Stages, but we're going anyway.  This means we need your help; we need to know about any generator stages that may still have openings.  If you or someone you know has any info about generator stages, please send us a message with the following info:

1.  Do we have to pay? Y/N
     If so, how much?

2.  Can bands sell merch at this stage?  Y/N

3.  Stage details. (Tent? Physical stage? Tech info?)

4.  Any openings available.

Thank you guys for all of your love and support.  We couldn't do anything without you.

God bless.

Love, Jack and the rest of WATD.

1.  Do we have to pay?
Yes, you have to pay to get into cornerstone and generator stages may cost $0-$50 or more. It all depends on the owner of the stage.

2.  Can bands sell merch at this stage?
You're supposed to pay for a merch liscense but last year we just 'traded' shirts for money at our trailer. Just be descreet about it. Let the crowd know you have merch and to talk to you if they're interested.

3.  Stage details. (Tent? Physical stage? Tech info?)
Some Gen Stages have Tents, others don't. Some are just a crappy PA on the grass. The rule of thumb is, the better the stage, the more $$ you'll be paying to get on. Good stages will have good PA's so as to not let the band get drowned out by surrounding bands. Tent stages are likely to draw in more people due to the wealth of shade.

4.  Any openings available.
No clue right now. We were in the same boat as ya'll last year. We played our stage mostly but you can go around and talk to stage owners to see if they have openings. Musicians are pretty flakey so there'll probably be a band that can't play or doesn't show up or someting. Just keep alert and don't be shy!!! Nobody is shy at Cornerstone. Everyone is Music-lovers, everyone will hug you, and everyone will be awesome! Lotta love at C-stone

5. Extra
Promote Promote Promote!! Whether it's walking around in a diaper/chicken suit/booty shorts handing out flyers, or just shouting, 'Hey, we got a beastly show here at 4! Come have some fun!!'
The chicken suit will attract more people.
Bring Shampoo and soap for the Public showers. Don't look at the naked fat guy who's way to outgoing.
Be friendly the entire time. People like Friendliness. DON'T BREAK UP THE HIPPY LEAP FROG CONTESTS!!!! THEY GET ANGRY AND THEY CONTROL 1/4 OF C-STONE.
And last, if you're terrified of bugs, beware: In the morning, your tent will be coverd (on the outside) with ants and what not. when you unzip your tent, they might try and get in. Keep your tent closed.

WALKING AMONGST THE DEAD

Dudes, thanks for the advice.  We're mainly just looking to see if anyone knows of specific stages that have openings at this point, but good advice none the less.
