So I was in Cedar Rapids at the Super 8 Motel for a day and then I got a call from my dispatcher saying that my trainner thought her teaching style was not getting through to me and to get me a new trainner.  I also had to go take a drive test.  So on Wed. the 18, I went back to the yard and took a drive test.

The test consisted of putting the truck in motion, making some turns and going on a truck route for a short time.  Then the guy giving me the test had me back into a spot on the yard with him being my ground guide.  The sheet he filled out about the test said I only had to work on shifting, my trainner said I was having problems with lane centering when on the interstate.

After passing the road test I go and see my dispatcher about getting a new trainner.  She gives me a new trainner who is a few states away and won't be at Cedar rapids for a while so she tells me to go back to the motel.

I get back to the motel and am there a couple of hours when I get another call from my dispatcher telling me there has been a change of plans and there is a trainner on the yard ready to pick me up.  So I get all of my stuff together and get back to the yard.

As it turns out, my new trainner still had his last student and was taking him home.  So I get on the truck, and the trainner starts driving.  I come to find out very quickly that this trainner is a stickler for everything and wants everything done his way, which is fine.  He wants no mistakes on the log book at all.

So he pulls over into a rest area and he gives me a wheel.  I start to drive and he imideately knows that I need alot of work.  I drive for about 4 hours and then he lets his other student drive.  The other student drives for 11 hours and gets us to West Vergina.  At this time we are under a load that is dilivering to Virgina.

He lets me drive again.  I drive for an hour, but once I exit I come to a stop sighn that is on a hill and I can't get the truck in motion, I keep stalling out the engine.  He says that I should have learned how to start on a hill in driving school, but since we are heavly loaded I am having trouble with clutch and throtle control when starting.  He takes over and gets us to the wherehouse to diliver the load.

We arrived at the wearhouse early so we end up waiting for 3 hours before getting  to a door and waiting another 2 hours to get unloaded.  After that he drives us to a nearby TA truckstop where I fuel the truck.  Then the other student drives us to North Carolina where we drop and hook another load and the other student drives himself home to Georga.

When I wake up in the morning we are in route to Lerado TX where the next load dilivers.  The trainner tells me that he thinks I am a very unsafe driver since I have a tendency to jerk the wheel when on the interstate and have problems when starting.  He told me he told dispatch about this and that they will be talking to me about it.

Now we are in Louisiana parked at a TA truckstop.  I don't know whats going to happen, but I think I might be let go from CRST.  I also need to decide weather or not I think I will be able to drive a truck safely if I work on it.

The trainner is sleeping right now and I am going to ask him what he thinks and I am also going to call Mr. O from Central Tech and ask him what he thinks I should do.  I think I can solve the lane centering by simply driving alot in a regular car, but the clutch problem I need a truck to solve.  I'll think about this some more in the the morning.

That's all for now.
