i think its amazing they face death an we face tyranny with a constitution to back us up an yet  some ppl still sit in fear its getting better by all means but geez theyre getting shot at we get raped by the fed an our rights ran over an we just sit back until now you know

I agree with you. Just imagine if we saw this type of mobilization of the disenfranchised after both the 2000 election debacle and the 2004 election here in the United States. It would have been Earth shattering. Sadly, people here are apathetic....others don't know what they can do about it.

While it is true that we have more freedom in this nation then most....we are not free. There are so many forces at work within this nation exerting control that most don't/can't see them. The FED is a great example of that.

THE PEOPLE WANT SOMEONE WHO WILL FIGHT FOR THEIR RIGHTS AND REPRESENT THEM JUSTLY! NOW IRANS SUPREME LEADER AYATOLLAH ALI KHAMENEI IS CALLING FOR AN END TO THE PROTESTS, AND SAYING THAT ALL THE BLOODSHED AND CHAOS FROM HERE ON OUT IS ON THE PROTESTERS. THAT DOESNT SOUND LIKE A LEADER FIGHTING FOR THE PEOPLE TO ME. THOUSANDS TOOK TO THE STREETS IN IRAN, PEOPLE CONSIDERED LIBERALS AND MANY CONSIDERED CONSERVATIVE/RELIGIOUS, ALL CLAIMING VOTER FRAUD. COMPLETE POLAR OPPOSITE PEOPLE STRONGLY BELEIVING THE SAME WRONG DOING! IT IS INSPIRING WHILE AT THE SAME TIME HEART BREAKING AS YOU SAID STREAM. and the Ayatolla accused the USA without any evidence,
and then evidence came out it was their own govt?

Or would they arrest their leaders who set them up?

Thanks for all the comments so far guys. It's great to see so many like minded people from so many diverse backgrounds feeling so passionate about such an incredibly important issue. I apologize if I don't always respond to every comment...I try to get them all!

Each and every one of us should do whatever we can to bring awareness and show support for not just the Iranian people, but all oppressed people worldwide. So many have no voice, and it is up to others to speak for them and bring their plight into the public consciousness. I'm so glad you guys are out there...it's a wonderful feeling to know I am not alone. I know it's easy to turn a blind eye, and yeah we ALL have problems. But this is so much bigger than that.

I too support human rights. However the demonstrations in Iran were about claims of election fraud not human rights. The fact that Iran had such a large voter turnout shows that they support their system of government or else they would not have participated in the election. The demonstrations are being used by the CIA to destabilize the country in an effort to overthrow the government and install a government supportive of American corporate interests and the globalization agenda. The son of the former Shah of Iran hopes to become the new Monarch and ruler of Iran.


 

I understand your point and even agree with you. However I think you are missing my point. I never stated that the Iranians mobilized demanding human rights, it's obvious that they feel that they have been disenfranchised and defrauded. That is why they are out in force. It IS a human rights issue however as the world is watching people being brutally repressed and silenced for simply voicing their dissatisfaction and anger over what appears to be massive election rigging. How is that NOT a human rights issue?

You are preaching to choir regarding the CIA/globalization as well. Nothing new there my friend.
