Last night was opening night for the Ballet West Innovations
performances. I can't tell you how excited and honored we are to be a
part of this whole thing. The first show went really well and we got a
lot of really positive responses from the audience.
The piece we
are involved with is by soloist/choreographer Jason Linsley and is
entitled "Growth and Grief". The dance is set to our songs "This Is The Last Time I'll Say Goodbye" and "September..." and is, to quote Jason, "based around two
couples with very different relationship personalities, lovers and
fighters. One of the couples goes through a massive tragedy and the
other takes another look at their lives together. The process is very
personal and driven from experience from myself and my dancers." It's
really amazing and surreal to be a part of such an intensely emotional
piece of work.
We're looking forward to the rest of these
performances. If any of you in Utah can make it out to a show, come
say hi. It would be awesome to have some friends in the audience.
After
these shows, we're going to hunker down and get to writing/finishing up
our next record. We already have some ideas that we are really excited
about and can't wait to see them come to fruition.
So, thanks
everyone for your patience. We hope to have the new record (plus maybe
some other surprises) out there by the end of the year, at the latest.
