Hello from Copenhagen!
I've been over here for a week now and have really had a great time so far. I thought I would post some of the pictures I've taken with as little text as possible. Who wants to read when you can look at pictures? Right? Right?
So. The Pictures.
When I first arrived I tried to walk around and see some of Copenhagen's beautiful old buildings and squares. Here is one such square. There was a huge protest there over budget cuts yesterday. Thousands of people waving flags and drinking beer. Kind of like a football game except with budget cuts. You know.

I've also fallen in love with the number of bicycles here. It's the main mode of transportation. I've been using the free "City Bikes" to get around along with the Metro.

And the food. So expensive! A normal hamburger is more than ten dollars US. However, said hamburger usually comes with ridiculous stuff. Like the grapefruit slice on this guy I had at Cafe Klimt (covered with Gustav Klimt reproductions).

With all the new things about Copenhagen I've been trying to experience, it's been tricky to remember that I came here to play. Oh right. Music. I'm here opening for a great danish band "Lilyphone" whom I met through our mutual producer, Rogers Masson. You can hear their music at myspace.com/lilyphone. Our first show at the Tjilipop (pronounced chilipop) was a lot of fun. But it was last night's show at Råhuset that quickly became my favorite. Here's a picture of me and the room (loved all those candles).

This is Morten. The best sound engineer alive. Thankfully he's thinking of coming to Nashville. I think his secret is the mustache.

My favorite moment of the show was when an accordion player, Phil, whom I had met earlier that day sat in on Ancient Cities. It sounded incredible. I just told him the chords and he ran with it! It was one of those magic improvisational moments that can make an old song brand new. So much fun.

And finally, Lilyphone played and did an incredible job.

Well. That's it for now. Hopefully I'll have time for another update before I leave. I hope you are all doing well. The CD is on its way to being on itunes. I'll send out a big message once that happens.
take care
