Current mood:  thoughtful
just a short one
if ever i have had a music recommendation, this is it:
Circa Survive
I just bought their album 'On Letting Go', and the lyrics are smart, insightful and poetic, the music experimental, the vocals are emotive and experimental as well. They're not a band to like on first listen, they're not catchy enough for that. But give them a go, and if you don't like them, that's ok, but if you do, fantastic!
I only know 2 people besides me that also like them, so, yeah, they're great.

I would go to their gig later this year but for one problem.. they're supporting My Chemical Romance. How annoying to pay $70 for 30 mins of good music that goes unappreciated.
This happens a lot I should point out: good bands from the US come to Aus, but cos they don't have the support by themselves they have to support horrible bands:
Jimmy Eat World (great) supported Green Day (average) at Telstra Dome (i think MCR supported too.. hmm)
Jack's Mannequin (great) supporting Fall Out Boy (average)
now Circa Survive supporting MCR
in the US you barely ever pay more than $25 for a gig. I wish I was in America sometimes.

Im going to the footy to see st kilda play fremantle. I haven't been to the footy for a long while. should be good. Cat's a big saints fan so that works out well i think, im going with her and her nan. Even though i go for West Coast, my second team would be the saints (my family goes for them, and of course Cat).

I hope you're doing well. I want to make more time for you but I find it hard. But I want you to know that I think of you constantly.

Hope you enjoy the footy Ben, Should be a fairly even contest, I'd think. I enjoy having league on Friday nights on 9 here; last night watched Storm v Parramatta which was a very close game.

Can't really coment on the bands you mentioned as I know nothing about that, but great that you enjoy their music. Mum said you got paid for a film on Lighthouse College, that's great. Hope the college survives the current crisis.

Keep blogging awy,
Dad
