We've been here a week so far and are having a great time in the States.
We started in L.A at Saddleback and were part of the Purpose Driven Worship Conference. It was exciting to see what God is doing amongst worship leaders there.
We then flew in to Baltimore and drove for hours to get to a festival called Creation East. In the middle of nowhere 80,000 young people gathered for a music festival. We had a good time there.
During these 2 events it's been fun hanging out with a guy called Matt Maher. He's written some great songs, 'Your grace is enough,' and ' For Your glory.' He's a Catholic worship leader from Pheonix and it's been great chatting to him about song writing, liturgy and leading worship. To find out more about him check out his website mattmaher.com
We're now in Louisville, Kentucky and have just led worship at a great church. It had the most amazing auditorium I've ever seen.
Have been challenged whilst here to keep investing in my gifts. Sometimes I can get really complacent in things such as my musicality and the way in which I song write. We've spent the week with some amazing musicians who keep pushing themselves to be the best. Maybe it means investing more time, more resources into gear - whatever it takes to keep aiming for excellence. As worship leaders we need to find the best and most creative ways to lead people in praise and worship. Let's never settle!
