Dany KEN

Hello CBE Studios. I know every scratch in your walls. CBE was the only studio in Paris where you found a natural sound for Blues & R&B, an impressive "room-sound" , a room you didn't have to "baffle" or "dress" to lay down the Blues in a "fat" track. Bernard Estardy was like a tall brother of mine. Everytime we went to work I felt secure I could concentrate on the music and the musicians, while Bernard concentrated on the sound, the board and the tricks we used from time to time. At the time I began working with Bernard (1988-1989) I was also recording two English groups in London at Abbey Road. A marvelous studio, Abbey Road, but the natural sound of a Mississippi studio I could only find in Europe at C.B.E.! The album I produced with T-Bone Walker, "Good Feelin'", in C.B.E. 1988-1989 won a Grammy Award for "Best Ethnic or Traditional Recording"! I hope you won't change the room too much, I still want to come in and throw down some tracks! Robin Hemingway http://cinedisc.us
