CANNES -- Dermot Mulroney will make his directorial debut with
"Keep It Together," a family comedy-drama about love and
divorce.
In the project, an idealistic young newlywed who is also a marriage
counselor returns from her honeymoon only to learn that her
parents, whom she saw as the model for a happy marriage, are
getting a divorce.
Christopher Walken and Blythe Danner are in negotiations to play
the older couple, with producers out to cast on the young female
lead.
The project will be produced by Michelle Chydzik and Nathalie
Marciano via their 26 Films banner. The script is written by
Caprice Crane and Anouska Chydzik Bryson.
Chydzik and Marciano have collaborated with the ICM-repped Mulroney
as an actor -- on the 2005 romantic comedy "The Wedding Date" and
on upcoming drama "Inhale," in which Mulroney stars as a father who
goes to desperate lengths to find a lung for his sick
daughter.
Next up for the banner is "My Life in Ruins," Donald Petrie's
romantic comedy starring Nia Vardalos about an American tour guide
in Athens who rediscovers herself. Fox Searchlight is set to
release the pic next month.
The ICM-repped Walken is set to star in mob actioner "The
Irishmen," while the CAA-repped Danner is attached to period comedy
"The Lightkeepers."
