After being thrown out by security at the sound check, Will sat outside The Forum (Melbourne) for 2 hours until Nick Cave & Grinderman/Bad Seeds emerged.
(Nick walks up to Will.)
Nick Cave: Hello
(Shakes Will's hand)
Will: Hello Mr Cave.
(Nick turns his head quirkily)
Nick: Gee you look like that English Actor!
Will: Er, who?
(Nick signs Will's "Abattoir Blues" record and a photo)
Nick: Ooh that's a sorry sight of a photo hehe! Erm he was in Notting Hill.
Will: Errrrr
Nick: Hugh Grant! I like him!
Will: Oh really? Haven't had that one before.
("So I look like a foppish wet rag then" thinks Will)
Will: May I have a photo opportunity please?
Nick: Certainly. Who can take the photo? Jim? (His drummer)
Jim: Sure.
(Nick puts his arm around Will. Will is about to hug him and never let go).
Will: Thankyou so much. Have a great show tonight.
Nick: Thankyou. See you.
(The band climbs into a blue Holden Commodore hire car and Nick drives)

Will then left and got drunk to a blues band down the road.

Will earlier met Warren Ellis before sound check and he was a delightful chap.
He called me mate. Wow.

Will unfortunately did not meet Martin P. Casey.
Though he did yell "Long live The Triffids" at the show.
