We're always looking for street team peeps.
Here's the criteria:
1) Effort.
You have to put in a minimum of 2 hours a week around the office. Sometimes we're delivered food, band members stop by, or it's Friday and we feel like having a beer around the office. Whatever the case may be, two hours minimum is what we ask of you.
2) Integrity.
You control your destiny. In other words, the more you want to know about the radio station, the more time you'll have to put in. We'll teach/show you anything/everything we can, you have to want to learn.
3) Desire.
There are positions you can work your way into within the company, providing you want to work. Not everyone wants to put in effort. They think that because they're involved with the radio station they've all of a sudden become bullet proof and now don't have to do shit for anything.
WRONG.
4) Professionalism.
While it's cool to be associated with the radio station, the dynamics of your life and how you carry yourself will have subtle changes.
For example, when wearing radio station gear and standing inside the tent or at the radio station table during any event representing, you have to be as professional as possible. This means that when one or a bunch of your friends want to act like they're 15 and start hassling you because it's what they've grown accustomed to, and you want to retaliate, think twice before doing so. When you're a part of the radio station, intern or otherwise, you are viewed as such.
Our goal is to be as professional as possible while having as much fun as we can. Radio isn't the highest PAYING medium, but I'll be damned if it isn't the funnest.
5) Concert tickets.
Pending upon the show, you'll more than likely get A ticket or quite possibly A pair. Most of the time the interns/part timers get a ticket for the show leaving their guest to fend for themselves.
I can tell you we've had a substantial amount of douchebags (Ashley/Breakfast Club - this does not apply to you) over the past few months SAY how committed they are, then end up being a waste of time.
We're not an easy bunch to be around at first, and will put you through the ringer without being too harsh, just remember that it's similar to being in a fraternity/sorority in the sense that you'll get hazed for a few. Once you're past that stage, the rest is a cake walk.
Interns who haven't lasted but MAYBE a week or two, went by the following nicknames:
Hot Carlos The Mooch and 8 others whose names aren't coming to me.
Now then, all THAT said, if you think you have what it takes, then stop by, fill out an app, and let the rest fall into place.
