Wassup!

You have received this e-flyer because you either experienced The Apricot Jam back in the day, or we have worked together on a theatre or club event, or you're a close (Myspace) friend. Whatever the reason, I am cordially inviting you to come and celebrate my 40Fresh birthday party.

I haven't had a party since 1979. My mum insisted I invite my friends back to the house for fun, games, jelly and ice cream. (Ask Mikey Supa) It was so good that I've been reluctant to try follow it. 30 years on, my beautiful wife Jane and childhood krush groove Michelle have decided to organise a party to eclipse '79.

In these days of pubescent idol worship, we can't forget how cool maturity is too. At 39, I'm still into the same shit I was as a teenager. Hip Hop culture, live music, dope trainers etc. I'm still enjoying a career that celebrates and promotes the culture that has given me such joy over the years. Nostalgia and innovation is still in the building!

The Legendary Apricot Jam is back for this one-off party. In the late nineties, we set a precedent with this monthly acoustic Hip Hop vibe. Featured acts included Blak Twang, MC Mell'O', Julie Dexter, MC D, Skinny Man, Ty, Mikey Supa, Cash Crew, Eska Mtungwazi, MPHO, Lyric L, amongst others. We also originated the world famous 'bring your beat' open mic session.

Please come early! Food and live music will start at 8pm. A strict dress code will be in place for the men... NO SHOES! Only your freshest trainers please! Ladies come looking fly, just like back in the day!
