Rising like lions from one of our periodic bouts of slumber, we set off yesterday for the cozy confines of the Seaside Lounge in Park Slope to record five new songs, including "Sugar Free Blues," "You Don't Comb Your Hair Anymore" and "Get Much Better." Everything was live, all of us in one room, guitar bleeding into drum mics, drums bleeding into vocal mics, mistakes bleeding into mistakes, happiness bleeding into sadness, purposelessness bleeding into purposefulness. We will do some overdubs at home and then we will be done. The resolution for 2009 is to produce, produce, produce.
