Additional notes on some of the songs:
The title song, Brother To The Wind, was written by Craig Bickhardt and FC Collins in 1986.  We are indebted to Tony Rice for his recording of the song on his CD called Native American.

Even A Cowboy Can Dream was written by Craig Bickhardt and Barry Alfonso, and was originally recorded by Trisha Yearwood on her CD Everybody Knows (UK version only).

If He Came Back Again was written by Craig Bickhardt and Barry Alfono, and was originally recorded by The Highwaymen (Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson) on their CD The Road Goes On Forever (10th Anniversary Edition only).

This Old House was written by Thom Schuyler and Craig Bickhardt and originally recorded by SKB on their CD No Easy Horses. It has also been recorded by The Rice Brothers and Charlie Louvin.

Lord Franklin is a traditional song adapted from an arrangement by John Renborn and originally recorded by him.

Donald and June was written by Craig Bickhardt and originally recorded by Don Williams on his CD True Love.

I can't wait to hear it. I've mentioned before that I love the original, solo acoustic stuff—from that first demo to the "unplugged" version years later—especially those of the great performing songwriters like yourself. That said, what an outstanding group of musicians and what an amazing list of vocalists on this new one, many of whom are great songwriters in their own right. I am especially pleased to see that you have chosen "Donald and June"; it is an example of the kind of character-driven storytelling that you have championed in your blog. I am also interested to see "Lord Randall" in there. I described your guitar playing on Precious Child as "Celtic-inspired"; although I hear more of a Martin Carthyesque sound in your nimble, precision, I look forward to hearing your adaptation of a Renbourn arrangement. For now, the new JD Souther will continue to maintain my repeated attention, but a new Bickhardt is a very welcome and exciting prospect for the new year. I hope you and your family have a happy one as well.
