Despite the petition to make our Sunday polo place a fecal farm for fidos, we should get a counter petition affirming its current usefulness for multiple community activities from the parents of the baseball kids, the fulan gong/tai chi crowd and every single person who plays or has played bike polo in the pit. We of the current multitude of park users have the greater numbers. I am down to sit at the park and collect signatures from anyone who uses the park for something other than body wastes...

just to update anyone who doesnt already know... the dog park idea was SHUT DOWN!! they might get one but not at Chrystie and Broome. Some high lights of the Community Board meeting were the fact that 3 people signed in FOR the dog park and 30+ signed in AGAINST. It seemed as if the dog people had no idea that there was an 18 year old bird garden right next to the space they wanted. Any dummy knows birds dont like dogs. The CB asked if the dog petition was translated into Chineese. It wasn't. And then asked if ours was translated. IT WAS! take that!! they had 200 sigs. We had over 800. As you can imagine, the doggers had two points. 1 was that Thompkins Square was too far. and 2. that having dog owners in the park equals the park will actually be used and it will be safer. The CB saw thru that crap. The park is used ALOT, and the park is safe. Rich yuppies might not feel safe but welcome to NYC. The effort and support was there, many thanks to those who deserve it, you know who you are. NYBP thanks you. And we should all be thankful that the polo court is next to a bird garden. Forever be nice to them.
