After a stunning performance at the NZ Music Awards the night before, Cut Off Your Hands fans queued down Karangahape Road in the bands native city of Auckland for the chance to see the band at an intimate MySpace Secret Show.
Warming up the crowd before the band hit the stage were DJ Dan Mancini and Speak n Spell's Dave Benge spinning the decks. The band who have been touring extensively through Europe packed the largely unused venue Bacio to a room of expectant fans eager to hear songs off their newly released debut album 'You and I'. Cut Off Your Hands pleased the crowd with favourites such as their first single 'Oh Girl' and 'Expectations' alongside a special treat with an unreleased song 'You Still Love Me'. Lead singer Nick Johnston's reputation as a rather wild front man did not disappoint the crowd, when not beating the big drum beside him like his life depended on it he could often be found diving into the crowd. After a tight and electrifying set the band left the stage to arrive back shortly after with an encore performed just by two members Nick and Michael with the song 'Someone Like Daniel'. All who were there agreed that there was a lot of excitement in the air, and the band followed this up by being around afterwards to sign the beautiful and original screen printed posters for fans.
MySpace would like to thank Cut Off Your Hands for an outstanding show, Dave Benge, John Baker, photographer Milana Radojcic, James Brown, Matty, Dan Mancini, Vahalla Studios, Steven at Bacio and all the fans who made it such a memorable show.
