 Myspace knows Ohakune is the Winter Party Capital of New Zealand: Ski, board and toboggan fans from all over the world flock to the Turoa slopes by day and and rock the tiny township hard ‘apres’ the snowy action. So what better place for a very special MySpace secret show than in Ohakune.
 
Four awesome, home-grown acts were bussed in for the Myspace pop-aganza and played until the wee small hours while ski-bunnies and snow-freaks danced the night away.

The lucky Myspacers who packed out the intimate venue were treated to the lounge-soul-folk stylings of Auckland 3 piece, Panther and the Zoo, whose low-fi poetry and tender song-smithing set the tone for the night. But the night soon changed direction and the heat rarked up a notch or twenty when the electro-grunge shenanigans of Brand New Math got the crowd pogoing with tunes like kids show jingles smashed face first into New York City, circa 1978.

The crowd went crazy when the indie darlings, Street Chant, took to the mics next and delivered their own brand of riot grrrl infused, DIY, guitar angst.
 
  But it was the post-shoe-gazing romance of The Ruby Suns who gave the perfect snow drift muffled sound track to a night under clear, starlit winter skies.
