The new Caravan Showcase (mobile stage) will make its debut on March 14 in downtown Stockton, CA, at Decarli Square 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM. The stage will be presented with its basic amenities (onboard p.a. system, drum riser, and generator), with plans and arrangements for a L.E.D. lighting system, crew seating, sound enhancements, and exterior artwork, already in place for future events. The Downtown Stockton Alliance is responsible for actually creating the event. Jennifer Krengel of the Stockton Downtown Alliance met with Jimmy Moreno a few weeks ago and and offered the Caravan Showcase not only the March 14 event, but also, May 2, 29, June 26, and July 31.
"This is a step in the right direction for the musical community in combining our efforts. Artist's reflect the trends and sentiments of the community. Now is a time of working not only as an example of a group of people working toward mutual benefit, but for giving our community an example of what fun and happiness people, who love what they do, can give to others in a time of uncertainty. We are artist's. We live in constant uncertainty, that is our lifestyle, ask our families and they'll tell you. We work a lot without a guaranteed outcome. Most of society is facing what we are experts in, finding happiness despite often facing major disappointment."
Jimmy Moreno
