An open letter to all CAPPA members from Tracy Wilson Peters and Donna M. Johnson

Posted on October 9th, 2008 by Tracy

Dear CAPPA Member,

Donna Johnson and Tracy Wilson Peters

As many of you know, over the last year or so Donna Johnson (CAPPA Co-Executive Director) has been pursuing a career with Aflac Insurance Company. The great news is that this Aflac has been a tremendous success for Donna! Donna is now working full time with her family in a job that she very much loves.

As you all know, Donna also loves CAPPA. Over the last few months we have been discussing how we can best handle this new change for Donna while making sure CAPPA is also taken care of. We have come to an agreement in the last few weeks that we are both happy with. Donna has decided to take a different role in CAPPA that will allow her to work her full time job at Aflac, but to remain on the CAPPA staff on a part time basis.

Effective immediately, Donna will become CAPPA's CFO and her main responsibility will be handling CAPPA's accounting and conference budget. Tracy will remain on as Executive Director and will work full time in the CAPPA office. We are confident that this change is best for CAPPA, as well as Donna and her family. We are very proud of what we have built in CAPPA to this point and that our ten year long partnership has been so successful. We of course remain very close friends and will both continue to work with the best interest of CAPPA's long term success in mind at all times.

Any time there is a change such as we have described amongst an organization's leadership, there is bound to be speculation and/or questions as to what brought on the change. We want to assure our CAPPA members that in this case, both Tracy and Donna are still great friends as well as co-workers who hold great respect and adoration for each other. We have both accepted the terms of our new working arrangement with confidence that the right decisions have been made.

What will these changes mean for you as CAPPA members? There should be no difference in the service that you receive as a CAPPA member. The changes that we are making in the CAPPA office will not change your CAPPA membership or certifications. This is really a behind the scenes change that mainly affects the CAPPA staff. Our staff has been informed of these changes and understand how the CAPPA team will integrate the changes. Please be assured that you will continue to receive the same high level of service that you have come to expect as a CAPPA member.

Donna will still attend conferences and be part of the leadership team. Donna will no longer hold CAPPA trainings at this time, but may elect to train again one day when her time permits.

We hope this letter explains the changes that will be taking place and that you will all be happy for Donna and her new career.

If you have any questions please let us know - we are an open book. Questions can be sent to info@cappa.net.

And if you know anyone who needs insurance, we can recommend a great agent!

Sincerely,
Tracy Wilson Peters; CAPPA Executive Director
Donna M. Johnson; CAPPA CFO
