Current mood:  pissed off
So, as many people know, City of Demons, my new novel, was supposed to be out tomorrow in hard copy. I, however, got a very disheartened message from the publisher letting me know some bad news, and that the release will be delayed for juuuuuust a week or two. The message was this: Y'know that cover I so proudly brandished about? Well it turns out the cover artist "appropriated" it...No, let's not be PC here. He stole it. Yep, from DeviantArt. Incidentally, if you haven't checked that site, you're missing out.
Anyway, so as soon as he found out, the publisher freaked out (and rightfully so) and pulled the proof out, so we're patiently awaiting a new cover from another (HONEST) artist.
At this point, I need to say something. I do not hold Library of Horror responsible for this fiasco, nor do I blame them. I blame the little shit who claimed someone else's work as his own. The fact that the publisher contacted me and let me know what was going on speaks volumes about his integrity, and I trust in his abilities. They've been nothing but straight with me, and I respect them.
As for the guy who claimed the cover was his own, passed it off, and is now making me go through the process of taking the cover down and waiting for my book to come out, I have two words: YOU SUCK!
