"Two Hearts", the Hugo-award-winning sequel to "The Last Unicorn", was awarded the Nebula award for Best Novelette last night!

According to Peter's business manager: "He is absolutely ecstatic. He has never even been nominated before, and even as his name was read out as the winner he couldn't quite believe this was happening."

More info: http://sfwa.org/awards/2007/

You can read "Two Hearts" in the short story collection "The Line Between" (available autographed from Conlan Press) or online at PeterBeagle.com.

(Note: if you were one of the people who preordered the "Two Hearts" Collector's Edition, we have heard from Conlan Press that the manufacturing process is finally moving forward and there should be some good news soon...)

Outstanding! What a totally excellent thing! You've worked so hard, Peter, and you deserve every accolade you get. I'm so delighted for you and proud of you. The writer we have loved since many of us are children is finally getting some of the recognition he deserves. So very well done!

*pops a bottle of whatever suits you*

Cheers ~

My heartfelt congratulations, too, Peter. That's a well-deserved recognition from your peers. My throat swelled up reading every line of that story, to become reacquainted with long-lost friends whom I thought were forever trapped in the memories of my youth... but to find them alive and well and inviting as always... Well, that choked me up. In fact, and in my regard, that whole new collection (The Line Between) deserves accolades. Your characters become like instant best friends, people you know you've always known but just had yet to discover in "real life"... One of the things I like best about your work is how you honor your characters, all of them -- "good," "bad" -- as a good god or parent ought. Sincerest thanks for that.
