I get asked about nyc recommendations a lot so i took this question posted by Chris from NYC in the yahoo group and put my response on here as well. Chris asked:
I'm gonna make my question(s) quirky....What made you decide to jump on the bandwagon (so to speak...LOL) and create a MySpace page? Until Sara's confirmation, I'll admit, I was sceptical it was you. Here's a dozy of a question--Ok, you get off the plane here and you are starving...where is the 1st place you would go to eat? And try not to pick a relative's house (because that is the obvious choice and something I would do). Last question, what are the ring tone(s) you use the most on your phone? If you were to hear the ones I have, they are 'interesting'
I answered: Hey Chris! I hope you're keeping warm back home! The first restaurant I usually go eat at when I get off of the plane in NY would be a place on the upper east side called Il Riccio. The owners are friends of mine and more importantly, the food is absolutely delicious! If I wanted something quick and easy like a slice of pizza I would have to go Joe's Pizza on Middletown Road in the Bronx. I think they have the best slice in NYC. Joe's in the Village on Bleeker and Sixth is damn good too. I could talk about food all day!
As for the MySpace page, it was something that I have been wanting to do for a long time but really didn't know how. I know it is probably easy for most people but when it comes to computers I still have a LOT to learn so a friend of mine offered to start one for me and to help me manage it and I took him up on the offer. Anyway, I have always recognized that MySpace is a great to communicate with a lot of people from many different places and to share information quickly and easily. I wanted a space for people to be able to reach to me and me to them and to also help bring more awareness to other spaces like JustAdam.net and my official yahoo group that Holly and Sara have done such an amazing job putting together and managing. One space leads to the other and helps me to stay in closer contact with the people out there who want to show me love and support and I'm really happy with the way the three sites have been working together!
As for ring tones, I am pretty old school and have not jumped on that bandwagon just yet. I'll probably be late to the party and catch on once the next new thing comes out. LOL
Peace and Love, Adam
