Hi everyone,

I'm so sorry to have been 'silent' for such a long time, but I've been really busy with family stuff. I've also been away on holiday and I've just finished making the BBC Christmas radio show with Rab Noakes and Troy Donockley.

At the moment I'm busy putting together a set list for the tour and am looking at material for the new CD in 2009.


What else? I'm currently doing publicity for the tour and working on the tourbook with Tim (Martindale), who's just great, and generally battening down the hatches for the next month. My brother is about to arrive from Canada for 10 days and I'm spending time next week with John Abernethy who's helping me with the autobiography... we've got 30,000 words and we need 90,000!!! Good grief... anyway, I'm asking friends to jog my memory (some of it's a bit hazy - well, it WAS the '60s!!) I'm ploughing through photographs as well with John. I'm determined that this book will be a real story and not a manicured airbrushed affair. Boring, boring, boring!!

 I read a great book by a man called Robert Douglas, who attended a writers group in East Anglia and decided to write down his recollections of a wartime childhood in Glasgow. It was so good. Real and funny and sad.....I'm inspired!

HI Barbara,
It's great to know that you have so much planned for2009.
We so look forward to the Tour, New Album, and the Book. I have been
listening recently to the "Rarities" C.Ds from Alan and there are some
great tracks to enjoy, I especially like the duets with Gary Wilmot.
Dennis Quilley, and Jose Carreras.

We are hoping you will be returning to Kilworth House next Summer, and
I keep hoping that you may return to that smashing little venue in Langholm
the Buccleugh Centre.

Hiya Barbara ! Thnx 4 all the news. Really looking forward to reading your autobiography when it..s finished. Glad to hear that it..ll be "cromwelled", and that you..ll tell it warts and all. Might be worth thinking about releasing the autobiog on CD too, with you reading extracts - maybe even release a deluxe version, book, CD and booklet ? Just a thought. Enjoy your time with your brother. Maybe he could take some british goodies back for Midge Ure who is now resises in a wooden hut in the middle of canadian nowhere !? You ahve a great christmas too Barbara. All the best for 2009.

Had a great time at the Liverpool Phil, took both my sisters to see you as a birthday treat for one of them. Really enjoyed the night and thanks for accepting me on your friends list. I would love to sing at the Phil it has a great atmosphere.
