I was diagnosed with a life long disorder when I was younger and at the time I would have loved to be cured. After accepting my symptoms as part of who I am I was able to realize their gifts and see how the whole situation made me who I am today.

I think that if there were a cure for autism that almost every parent of a child with autism would jump at the opportunity to have their child cured so they could live a 'normal' life. I'm sure this cure would make the lives of the parents easier. I would imagine that any parent that chose not to cure their child would be seen by society as being cruel. Why is this? What right do we have to impose our way of thinking and of seeing the world upon others?

Generally though I think the topic of whether or not to cure any 'disorder' is a lot more complicated than a simple yes or no.
