what is art? hmmm

from an observer's standpoint, i think art is what moves you... what perks up your ears, or awakens your eyes. something that makes you smile, and say "yeah!"

i see and hear new artists ever day on myspace, and i put my favorites in my top friends list; check them out; they all have something valuable to offer! i'm glad to have them all on my page, very glad, indeed...

from a creator standpoint; i think art is essentially expressing one's self without fear or doubt. i don't think there are any qualifiers; meaning, if someone creates something, it is their art. other people can choose to like it, or not like it. there is no validation required.

imagine life without art... impossible! it's absolutely essential to all of us. i think it's as important as breathing, eating, communicating, water and sleep!

and finally, i think art is so important because as we go through our day to day busy busy-ness, we need to at times stop, or, at least slow down a little bit, and relax with some kind of art; be it music, poetry, tv (yes, tv!), nature, paintings, the web, gardening; whatever your art is... to help us remember what brings us the most joy in life.
