Last night I got together with Scott, Miko, Jerry , Keisha, and D. We played some amazing improvisational music on conga, djembe, mandolin, and guitar. D is from Haiti, Miko grew up in Senegal. They have great skill and put a lot of heart and heat into their rhythms. Jerry and Keisha were holding the root on Djembes and Scott and I were on melody.
We had some great Jams. I wish the tape had been rolling. (or digital information packets, whatever).
If you are in Lee's Summit this evening (Apr 16) you might want to come to the Green Beauty Salon and check us out. The whole group from last night will be there. We are raising money for the Clean Water Fund
http://cleanwaterfund.orgThey are a grassroots organization trying to improve the water infrastructure. I like to drink water and don't like the plastic bottles. They endeavour to make the tap water better so people will drink it more. Seems simple doesn't it?
Hope to see you there!
