Hello my wool-enveloped friends,
Tis winter! I'm freezing. The leggings are sexy but do not provide me with the necessary warmth in these subzero times. It's so cold I keep my winter jacket on when rehearsing underground with the band watching my lyrics form tiny little clouds against the cold air - it's poetic.
It's been so long since i've been on the blogging that the trusty Scott had to step in to fill you cats in on what has been an incredible month of relentless gigging, writing and rehearsing - and to be honest - i'm the happiest little Fermie in the world for it! There is nothing like constantly gigging as a musician. Gives us a sense of purpose and serves in keeping us busy and creative. The result is two tunes written with restless hands that have channelled every gig come-down into something new.
This month has taught us how to deal with sound, logisitical, motivational, nutritional and financial issues like we've never known in our young lives. I've spent many a trip curled up next to my Marshall in our trusty Hyundai Accent praying that the next curve won't send the amplifier head flying into my left temple - which it did once - but i spent the journey passed out in the back seat which is the best thing to do when on the M4 at night anyway.
But more than anything this last month has made us a strong, solid, explosive unit. Scott and Howey are providing me with a fine, solid rhythmical cornerstone to both vibe off and jam with. It's an exciting time.
We're due to play at Moles in Bath this Saturday (14th November). So pop along if you fancy catching a glimpse of how we've evolved and to hear the new songs we've written which we'll be playing for the first time publicly.
The album is due to be delivered any time this week or next so definitely come along to a gig and get your hands on a copy. Afterall, the music itself speaks volumes - way more than i can convey in a blog and we're all very excited about finally being able to take some recorded music on the road with us to spread the word and keep the dream alive.
Thanks to everyone for your love for music and your enduring support.
Catch you at a gig in a city near you - very soon!
OOOOOoooo - and check out our brand spanking new website. It's really fit!
Much love and heaps of warmth,
Nicky xx
