:: JONA :: DJ Set :: Berlin : Get Physical / Planet E Records http://www.physical-music.com/ http://www.physical-music.com/Jona http://www.myspace.com/yyyona Jona aka Jonathan Troupin was born in Belgium in 1983. He started producing electronic music at the age of 17. His sound is shaped from Detroit techno to a more modern, sophisticated house feeling. Eclectism is a motif for him. He is always trying to explore new ways of creating sound and takes the advantages of his previous workings of musical styles. In the past few years, Jona has released several vinyl maxi-singles, on labels Planet E, Get Physical, Resopal, Fumakilla, Toys for Boys, Strobe Music along with remixes for M.A.N.D.Y., Booka Shade, David K, Daso, Soffy O, etc., 2 of those remixes were released by the major record company Virgin-EMI. They both reached number 1 in the official German Dance Charts. Press features and reviews soon followed in Mixmag, De:Bug, Groove Magazine, Trax Magazine, etc. He is currently working on his first album that will be released on Get Physical. :: NUTOWNPROJECT :: :: Live :: Berlin : Recode / Immigrant Records www.myspace.com/nut0wnpr0j3ct www.myspace.com/recodemusik Nutownproject aka Jaycee was born in Belgium in 1978. Feeling like a citizen of the world, Jaycee first got involved with music in the early 90's, first buying records like any kid of that age but not just any kind of records. He was after mainstream electronic Belgian music first aka New Beat! A few years and many records later, Jaycee got his first set of decks and joined his friends of the DHC, the first underground techno movement in his own city of Liege, Belgium. They threw parties in warehouses and at well-known Belgian club La Chapelle where he learned to work the decks and later the crowd. He performed with respected talents from all over Europe like Oscar Mulero, Ben Sims, Marco Bailey, and Stanny Fransen to name a few. In 1998, life somehow brought Jaycee the opportunity to come over to Miami, Fl in the USA. Here he discovered a brand new dimension to music and melodies - American house music! House was a perfect fit for such a important life change. A year later he moved to London, shaping his taste for house music and took music courses at the university to start producing beats and perfected his DJ skills thourgh parties in European countries. Here he started the beginning of a long journey: making his first record!!! It took Jaycee a few years of practicing in the studio to finally release his first records on well-known Tony Thomas' label New Era in 2004. After that he moved once more back to America where he began to feel that a change needed to be made; a reorientation music-wise as house was no longer fitting his tastes as his need for darker music and beats grew. So back to the roots and the old continent in 2006. Jaycee moved back to Belgium, jumped into his producer disguise and spent many, many hours in the studio alone or with his partner Jeik (Dany Rodriguez producing under Digital Coalition and Nutownproject). With Jeik and alone, Jaycee ended up with a bunch of releases on both digital and vinyl labels like Einmaleins Musik, Destination Records (a label ran by Dany Rodriguez and Jaycee), Ambiosphere, and Immigrant Industries. He teamed up with Jona (Get Physical) and the result was a great release on well-respected Berlin based label Resopal Schalware in 2007 along with recently released material on Toys for Boys and Pikks Records. He is now living in Berlin and has launched his very own label, Recode Music. :: JACOB LONDON :: :: Live :: Seattle : Classic Music / U-Freqs Jacob London: Seattle scene fixtures since 1992, the duo of Dave Pezzner and Bob Hansen have provided the public with countless releases on numerous labels, international tours of the utmost prestige, and a palpable sense of good nature. Whether through sock monkeys or their wizard costumes, Jacob London bring an intensely mirthful perspective to their live shows. Their original productions and countless remixes already boast a fun-loving vibe wrapped around intelligent, glitchy tech-house; but one hasn’t truly observed the Jacob London experience without witnessing them construct their electric fairy tales live. Their sense of humor and crowd-pleasing acumen place them in a league truly all their own. :: SKYLER :: vs. :: DR.MR.M ::
:: DJ Set :: Seattle : Knight Riders / Fourthcity Skyler, aka Pop, is a Seattle DJ who spins techno, minimal techno, and dub. His influences include: Richie Hawtin, Matthew Dear, Thomas Fehlmann, Deadbeat, Dominik Eulberg among many others. His style is a deep mix of flavors incorporating minimal techno textures and beats with expansive dub flavors and melodic flourishes from many disparate genres. DR.MR.M. aka M'Chateau, aka Michito Iwata, is a local destroyer of dance floors who holds himself to an epitome of excellence and is an icon in Seattle’s electronic music scene to say the least. A member of Seattle’s Fourthcity collective, he is a leading force in the local Micro-Rave movement, spearheading sick parties and throwing dirty beats down on the decks for four years straight. Mr. Iwata's style is stirred with allegiance for Detroit and Germany as well as an unconditional love for Latin and Brazilian music, and his sets will please even the most jaded electro-naut. Michito is the co-founder of the Knight Riders series and is the brains behind Fourthcity's 2008 Eastern European expansion. He was voted most likely to change the lives of millions in his sophomore year of high school, and can often be found walking his puppy in Seattle while surrounded by his personal security force, the Capitol Hill Cobras. :: EDDIE :: :: DJ Set :: Seattle EDDIE: At almost any crucial electronic music event in Seattle, you’ll find DJ Eddie either enthusiastically dancing on the front lines or inspiring drastic gyrating from behind the tables. He’s the closest thing Seattle has to a perpetual-motion machine, and the positive golden energy that radiates from him has inspired legions of city kids to rock the hell out on a regular basis. A veteran of the electronic music scene who is not content to rest on his golden laurels, DJ Eddie has been inducing good vibes in clubs longer than most, bestowing some of the most daring techno and house sets in the 206, proof that inspiration in the electronic world is as unwavering as you want it to be- and he wants it.
:: MATEO :: :: DJ Set :: Seattle Mateo was strictly a house fanatic until moving to Seattle 4 years ago where he found a rich, diverse music scene that opened him up to other styles of sound and ways of making people dance. Now his style could be best described as simply "Deep". Taking in the deeper shades of House, Techno and other genres he creates an atmosphere of bass and texture that tug at your heart as well as make you want to shake your ass.
