It was that kind of night. It probably started way before we left. You know Thursday nights have been getting pretty crazy around Knoxville lately...
Jonathan Sexton's set at SUNDOWN was tremendous fun, and I was honored to participate in the choir on stage. My heart was soaring as i watched Johnny pour all of himself into the music...and of course the helium-filled heart-shaped ballons only added to the feeling of Love and Happiness....anyway, I think i got drunk on adrenaline and joy.
So Friday we had a bumpy start on our way to Chattanooga. How I looked back at exactly the perfect moment to realize that the pump was still in the tank I WILL NEVER KNOW!!! ..and got all the way there....and set up....and then I hear Nate let out a "hmmmmmp...." with his hands on his hips. SOmehow he had a kick and a snare and a tom but nothing else....
After calling EVERYONE we knew in Chattanooga AND Knoxville (to find cymbals and a hi-hat....in which my mother later asked "Did Nate ever find his hat? Where did he get the one he is wearing? ) one of the Tavern employees let us know that he was a drummer....So we solved that problem.
There were several other interesting things that happened, but those were the ones with the most hysterical value. we had a blast...and my whole family did as well. I hoped they tipped the staff well because they sure did drink well. Love you guys, you taught me all I know!
