Back online after a move to a seniors apartment complex. Yep, I did it, I'm offically a senior citizen. Makes me feel good and bad. I still feel young inside, but the wrinkles on my face belie that and still have the power to shock me when I look in a mirror. But getting old and qualifying for a place like this has it's benefits.

Senior Citizen Ball-Cap Pictures, Images and Photos

Then there is the hand rail in the step-in shower. I can stand on one leg and shave the other without falling on my butt. Neat, huh?

I live in fear of being carted off to old folks jail for breaching the awesome security here, so I won't tell you that my door code is ......... is that the cops at my door?

Big THANK YOU to my kids, grand-kids and Jim for moving my stuff!! Without breaking anything, too! How lucky can you get? All in all, it was not a trumatic move, even though I stressed out terribly beforehand, just imagining all that could go wrong. A special thanks to Sherry, who coordinated, supervised and worked her hinny off.

Lucky me, I already have my phone and internet transferred and hopefully, the cable guy will deign to pay me a visit tomorrow after a no-show yesterday. He just better not make me miss House and 24! My vengeange will be terrible!

Before I walk off into my sunset years, here is fair warning that I still have lots of mischief left in me. I've met some nice folks here already, and some seem promising!Just kidding, young'uns! You know I will behave with decorum and moral rectitude.

So here's to me and my last home. I am NOT, repeat, NOT, ever moving again! If this place burns down, I'm living out my final days on the street.

Got back online too late for the lines, but I'll see all my Collab Pals on Sat.

Dear Margie:

You made me laugh at the shock in the mirror. I too have that experience!! Its amazing you wonder where all the time went.(??????????) It just flew!! Adjustments made at this time I find much harder. Probably my lack of cooperation in seniorhood. I am still raising children so it puts me in a push you pull me feel. sort of a state of confusion.  I am a grandma but feel like a mom  but I really am a grandma that I do face when I look in a mirror. When not looking I feel like the same young mom I once was and when I look well I just can't believe it. Anyway I hope this turns out to be a wonderfulmove for you. You are an intresting person and I'm sure you'll have friends here. Look forward to seing you Saturday!! and the best to you!!

WArm hugs and Smiles Sheila A

Accepting growing old is tough and confusing for sure, Sheila!  I don't wanna. Especially when it is time to try on bathing suits!! Maybe we could bring back those old covered bathing houses out in the water that women used back when they did not dare show an ankle!

Moving you was a breeze! I'm just so glad you can relax in such a nice brand new home. You have mail slots to secure your outgoing mail.  A washer and dryer at your convenience to use with a card.. how cool? And lets not forget you get a library.. bingo.. and special senior citizen parties and get- togethers.. YAY!!  I cannot feel your pain on the official senior citizen thing.. but I can say this... no matter what u see in the mirror..   WE all only see your warm soul that seems to have touched every single person you know in such a delightful way.. You've left your mark in your life successfully.. and you should be extremely proud of yourself!  You are a strong source of our family... I'm not sure where we'd be without you Nanny.. you are a true blessing and we love you!

With such a glowing testimonial, sweetie, I'm going to have to work hard to live up to it! Yeah, this place has a lot of neat things and I really am looking forward to the bingo games, since my strip poker days are over! Missing Breanna. When is she coming back?

Oh, mercy, Glenn! Moving again so soon after your last move is going to be rough, but at least it won't be all the way across the country!! Hope you get the place you want. Hey, Jackie!
I don't date at all, but maybe someday---. Nahhh. Those days are long gone. I'm too set in my ways to tolerate someone new.

Linda...

YEA! I am so glad you got moved and are in your home.

Yepsters I know what you mean about growing old.  I just watched a video of  my girls when they were little.  I was 39 and looked so young and thin...that is the way I view myself in my head.  I try to avoid mirrors and trying on clothes :P  I think young but my body tells me I am no longer young.

My husband started drawing his social security last month.  Can't believe we are already here.

It won't take you long and you will have made all kinds of new friends there.  :)

Love and hugs dear friend,
Linda

Lol!! It's just amazing, isn't it? I have two great-grandchildren. I am 18 until I try to get out of bed first thing in the morning and my aches and pains make themselves felt. I've been fortunate in my health, though, so I can't really complain. I love to go through old pictures, too, but it kind of makes me sad. That old saying that youth is wasted on the young is very true.

Well, congrats on getting your internet back on,sorry i wasnt more help in that dept. Im usually quite handy with computers.
I happen to agree that somehow it feels like you are pulling a fast one on these people who think your some kind of ..." old person" .... HA..... they dont know you, do they.  I give it 3 months before you will  be having all the old geezers  begging thier docs for Viagra and stronger heart pills. Not to say you will behave as anything but a lady, but I happen to know you won a best heinie contest once and you still have a certain..Twitch to your walk.
Oh, and I dont wanna catch you getting the old people drunk and having wheelchair races in the hallway , young lady. Someone could break a hip.

Just after you left, I was on the phone to support tech and he told me to check the phone connections. Sure enough these new connections are very tight and I had to force it all the way in, and lo and behold, it started working!! You did everything right and MANY THANKS, Susie Q! Take after your Daddy in being able to fix stuff that goes over my head. I don't dare try to hang the curtain rods! That wheelchair race sounds like fun.  I'll have to file that idea away for a rainy day.

You know how many times I said I wasn't moving again???? I think I've got one more or two more moves in me but that's yet to be seen.

Congrats on the move my friend. I'm sure you'll be very happy there.

Don't make those folks get mad at you and take away your cookies....lol

I was wondering where one of my favorite Collab playmates had been..... thanks for the update! It's good to see you are back online and everything is okay in your world!

Oh Margie, I just know you're gonna raise hell and have some fun at your new "old folks" home! I look forward to hearing about your experiences from time to time.  I am not ready for that quite yet, but I do so dread making a move in a couple of years from Florida to Virginia. We moved to a bigger house about 10 years ago, but only 4 miles away..... I get absolutely exhausted even thinking about another move!

Take care!!!!

I can really identify with this one.  I have wrinkles that i'm fighting with  Eucerin anti-wrinkle cream but all that turns up is softer wrinkles.  Well, we still don't give up but still won't throw away the blue jeans!  My coffee is getting cold and I am slower than ever!  My kids were with me last month still with the "jet set"  (sometimes with wheelchairs).  Good luck with your new home..happy days
ahead and see you with Cheryl's and here.  Lois here.
