Totally agree with you Mark. I mean I'm not a religious American Idol freak. I actually, besides this season, haven't really watched it at all beyond the embarrassing try-outs; but this whole popularity contest deal has been ridiculous. It doesn't even seem fair to the competition that he was even on EW and the other guy wasn't, because then it becomes more about who's got media support as oppose to who has talent. You more than anyone probably knows how fucked up the business is anyways, the mainstream game especially is about who is prettier and easier to market. I think of all the good bands who have been slighted by major labels because their stuff was just too hard to sell or because they weren't the prettiest to look at (Project 86 and Thrice, for instance), and it's honestly not about who's got talent these days; it's about who you can sell.
