I remember when I bought love resurrection. I was thirteen and bused over to Walkden Precinct to visit  my local record shop 'Jackies Spin-a-disc 'to buy it.

I got home and played it over and over again. We were quite hard up our family, and I had a 1970's stereo gram. I sat on my bed until the early hours of the morning singing along to the lyrics which were printed on the patch work quilt cover of the 12 inch. Occasionally flipping it over to play 'Baby I do' on the b-side. Playing it over and over again. Soaking up the energy, loving the music.

At about half twelve, I wondered into my mam and dad's bedroom. They were sleeping. Dad worked on the bins and Mam worked in a packing factory. Sitting on Mam's side of the bed with the record cover in my hand, I turned on the side bed light.

'Mam' I whispered, gently shaking her.

'What does Divine intervention mean?'

With sleepy eyes she gave me a strange look and said 'I bleeding give you divine intervention, I've got work in the morning now piss off and let me sleep'
