Hello to all on the last day of September. Hope it was a fun end to your summer. We worked our ars*s off as usual but there were loads of great gigs along the way so we can't complain. The last show at the Belly Up was sort of the "end of the Saints and Sinners" tour although we still have shows in Oct. I know, seems weird right? But when you tour relentlessly you have to break up the "themes" are we would still be on the "Rocky Road to Dublin tour" from 1993 !!!!
Anyhow, what it really means is we now turn our attention to the future and next years tours and projects while enjoying the remaining shows of 2009 by playing whatever we want. No pressure ha!
So what is next for the Dubs. A light schedule in Oct with only 7 shows all in California. We are playing inSan Luis Obispo twice but be warned that only the upcoming Oct 8th show is open to the public. When we return to play Cal Poly on Oct 24th it will be a "Students Only" show so come on down next weekend to the SLO Brew for another rockin night at this fun venue.
Also next weekend we play in San Jose for the first time in over 8 years. Why has it been so long, no freakin idea. But we plan to make amends on Oct 9th at the Voodoo Lounge. Then on Sat and Sun we play quite an unusual event for us. Not sure what we are in for at this one but I know its extremely popular among the "Renaissance folks" so we shall see. Maybe I'll do a little jousting or just stick to Turkey legs and Jameson. Ah the possibilities. Northern California Renaissance Faire Oct 10th and 11th.
THE IRELAND TRIP. Nov 5th to 14th.
Its nearly here and the excitement level among those going seems to be at fever pitch. We have met a lot of you on this summer tour and I am delighted to see how much you are all looking forward to it. We know as much as anyone what a tough year it has been for everyone and we plan to give you a hell of a holiday to unwind and forget the problems back home for 10 days. We have announced the three full rock shows on our website which are Galway, Donegal and Dublin. There will also be a more intimate acoustic concert in Cavan just for you guys and at least four nights out with the band in the various towns. We have also planned a HUGE first night in Limerick where we will host a dinner with all the travelers and the band as a way for everyone to get acquainted. Fun times, fun times....and did I mention the hotel bar stays open until the last guest goes to bed......
There are still a few spots left for the undecided folks who need a little shove to jump onboard. Consider yourself shoved !!!!
Right then, I am going fishing.......
