Alright, I've been guilty of MySpace Blog neglect! Okay, okay, I confess... I've been a bit promiscuous of late!!! I've been writing on LOTS of platforms all over the place, Blogger, Squidoo, The Magic Happens, The Network Marketing Magazine and last week I found a new spot... very attractive... very sexy...
And though I'm still learnin' the ropes over there I dropped by to give you all a heads up about HubPages! If you want to add a little money stream through your writing you might want to come over and share your wit, wisdom and/or knowledge as a Hubber (that's the term they use over there for author's of articles).
There some new lingo to learn... like that bit about 'hubbers'
A Hub is simply an article or web page you build sharing some great content. The platform is very search engine optimized and the community is very active, which means people are likely to read what YOU write!
Doesn't cost you a thing to create pages... and there is a 60/40 split on any returns resulting from Google Adspace, eBay, or Amazon purchases through your page... that's really quite generous for this sort of site.
Oh... and I'll add that people DON'T have to be part of the community in order to rate your work (with a 'thumbs up' or a 'thumbs down') or leave a comment.
It's important to spend a bit of time getting familiar with the culture over there... and pages created simply to sell something will quickly disappear. Once you understand how it all works though it's a very fun place to play.
I would truly appreciate it if you'd drop by and read and rate one or two (or all four) of my articles as it will help me establish myself there. (YES! This IS a shameless self-promotion paragraph. ;-)).
