STRAY DOG CAFE – The Experiment Requires You To Continue – edge cutting toe cutters and a whole album's worth of Northern English sounding things to say and angular pointy paranoia and catch twenty two situations. Wired and stringy and angular and awkward in a Fall kind of way, in a Wrong Pop Herzoga kind of way. "Florida man shot by puppy" shouts the voice, lots of shouting about all kinds of things, literate bites of something, positive bass line repetition and a very solid sound. Fine nine tracks, I guess this is just a demo right now? Just came on a CDr with the name of the band scribbled on it in blue felt tip, no contact details or anything like that, there's a scruffy piece of paper shoved in to the plastic wallet that says "promo copy" and Ubik on it, maybe they've released it? Good band, challenging intelligent sound, well worth checking out
