Singers with some choral experience are invited to audition for the award-winning Monmouth Civic Chorus on Tuesday evenings beginning September 2. The 2008-2009 season features the complete Handel's Messiah in December, a Lincoln bicentennial concert in February, and three choral masterpieces including a U.S. premiere in May.

We like to work hard. The Monmouth Civic Chorus recently received the 2008 ASCAP/Chorus America Alice Parker Award, which recognizes a chorus for programming significant recently composed music that expands the mission of the chorus and challenges the chorus's audience in a new way. Critics have acclaimed the Chorus as "close to perfect" (Asbury Park Press), "sonorously impressive" (The Star-Ledger) and "exceptional" (Red Bank Green).
