"Yes, the road take one is an excerpt from a practice tape (condenser mike into tape deck) (with lots of bad bits) but I had a bit of an idea of a tune , sort of in E, and playing with octaves. I wanted it to sound like Metallica and Steve wanted to do a jazz thing so there is tension but harmony as we try not to compete and ruin the sound. Steve is an imaginative complex and experienced drummer. The idea of the song, called The Road, is his and we played with that in mind. Other versions are just me bending the music on the computer. The poor quality of the recording probably enhances the sound."
