I must really be oldskool (or just old). I mean, I remember the
DIY ethic of punk subculture. Y'know?

Yourself? It was a key part of the subculture which opened the door to far more creative uses of freedom of expression since the end of the sixties and
very early seventies (until the people became cokin' disco ducks and yuppie New Age
[rhymes with ducks]).
Now there's
Punk Friends In Recovery. As in, the
DIY ethic of
just quitting for good on your own is
verbotten within it. So how "punk" can that be? Or is it just punk-assed? What's so
DIY about that when all worship the same wasted writings o' Wilson?
As for how I learned of the site I found it listed as a Friend on one of those
other sites that
claim to be against A.A. and Buchmanism. Go figure!
