Current mood:  amused
Obviously, my interests range far beyond the meager confines of speading the anti-addiction Good News to the world. For example, I've amassed a collection of recordings from meetings which I have personally infiltrated. While the number is quite impressive it's the time in cleaning up the audio for the best clarity for presentation that I really don't have much time for (there's just so many...and I may be filesharing them right now as you read this).

In the meantime, I've become quite adept at using off-the-shelf hardware and inexpensive-to-free software to further develop my own small audio mastering and engineering hobby. And I'd like to create a sister anti-addiction site that can be readily harnessed by those who want to get the most from their limited resources.

In other words, a DIY resource for people who want to kick some Buchmanite ass on their own. And, dare I say, there's nothing like catching these poor schmucks off guard as they worship at the altar of Bill W.

Speaking of which, sometimes I get IMs which are wacky in response to some things I have written. I sometimes get spam from those who lack the good sense of netiquette to not send any to begin with and arrogant not to apologize for their faux pas (calling Melanie Solomon).

From the hit & run file:
hpotter_junkie (5:02:34 PM): ok, got your email , i'll remember to refrain from forwarding things to you, also faith is all about believing in something you can't see. that's my choice. i can't help you with yours
Yahoo! Messenger: hpotter_junkie has logged out. (3/21/2007 5:02 PM)
Here's a person who would rather forward HTMLized spam from unknown sources and wonders why someone would take offense when forwarded further. In regards to such renegade permissiveness I'm very blunt. Such behavior (including widespread use of Windoze) is the reason why most newbies' computers are infected with various malware.

Also, I note the arrogance seething within concerning their precious "faith". Last time I checked faith is nothing more than confidence. Couple that with belief in the nonexistent and unproven and you have a perfect mix for delusion.

In other words, shatter the illusion that comprises their delusion and shatter their faith. A crushed psyche, realizing that they've been hoodwinked, bamboozled and hung out to dry is not a pretty sight to witness (I've been to recovery cult groups where that is the norm and, unfortunately, further binge drinking/drugging and suicides are also the norm in light of that). However, if the person knows something is definitely wrong then they can literally break out of that mental straitjacket of social cultism.

It's not that I need help differentiating fact from fiction or, if you will, reality from fantasy. My concern is raised when people who claim to have "faith" can't neither explain nor defend theirs. So certainly it wouldn't be me having a lack of faith. More likely it's the accuser who lacks it to back up their own assertions.

Psychological projection, perhaps?

Which reminds me of the disease mythology of addiction. Such nonsense is nothing more that the very same article of faith devoid of any evidence proving its existence. Even if someone posted pages upon pages of scholarly evidence of where that mishappen mythology came from it still wouldn't shake the True Believers free from the deception. And no matter how many followers believe such dogma to be true DOES NOT make it true (the bandwagon fallacy). Only when such assertions are challenged can truth be divined and a better understanding of reality is realized.

It makes as much sense as a bunch of True Believers stating that 2+2=5 and behaving rather arrogantly and dismissive of anyone who dare to challenge such a falsehood. After all, questioning helps to gain a better understanding of the topic at hand. It's not the people who can add who have a problem. It's the people who can't perform simple addition, much less explain the wacky mechanics behind what they assume to be the One True Math who have a big problem.

They are hooked to their dogma. Without it they fear that their life afterwards will mean nothing or just flat out suck, just as a drunk needs a drink or a junkie needs another fix. But ONLY when that person harbors doubt about the dogma, whether to continue believeing within it or not, is the ONLY sign (ambivalence) that they are addicted to it.

After all, doubt in the dogma at hand can literally set peoples' minds free. It's the cult of True Believers' job to steer that doubt AWAY from the dogma and towards the person who harbors it. And it should come as no surprise that such a technique has been honed in A.A. to malicious perfection.

In other words, the dogma is perfect since it's said by the True Believers that it's divinely inspired (appeal to belief fallacy). It's the humans who are not and must be rid of such questioning behavior on their part. It isn't honorable in the eyes of the deity du jour (God, William Griffith Wilson, L. Ron Hubbard, Charles Manson, etc.).

Anyhow, just for the sake of snarkiness, here is the line of inquiry that hpotter_junkie failed to respond to ("TRUST IN THE LORD ALWAYS"):

"Oh, but which one? And why the blind obedience? ;->"

Simple questions. I doubt that I'll get a straight answer one way or another. After all, I've seen another altar and it sure isn't Christian. I have in my possession a copy of their Bible and they treat the author of that Bible, William Griffith Wilson, as the second coming of Christ.

And thus, the limitations imposed upon myself as I run an authentic anti-addiction website. So, of course, this blog will be looser in content as my awareness pierces through the faulty armor of other peoples' ignorance.
