To my pleasant surprise, Buffalo Spree Magazine's readers and panelists voted me up to 2nd place in the Jazz Act category for this year's Best of Western New York roster. I've only been moonlighting on the jazz scene for a few months now with Billy Brandau and Jim Hazelet (aka The Billy Baroo Jazz Trio and/or The Funny Valentines) so in a way this came out of the blue.
