K&W Fine Art will be finishing our season with the solo exhibition of Philadelphia sculptor, Daniel Petraitis. Petraitis' exhibit, Waste Management is about just that... the way that we manage and think about our waste as a culture and a society. Bearing witness to the waste that we put into our world and asking the question, "Where did this come from and where does it go when we're done with it?" Waste Management is a response to living in a culture obsessed with the surface of things, a response to daily life, and a response to product. It considers progress. Waste and excess have become institutionalized, embedded in our collective psyche. Petraitis is a "maker, " working in various mediums: metal, glass, wood, plaster and cement. He is a sculptor concerned equally with content and craftsmanship. As he said, "I want to make it look like I didn't make it, but make it all." Please join us on June 12th from 6-9 pm for the opening reception of Waste Management. Also, take a look at our new website www.kellyweberfineart.com.
