The Sesh Magazine Review.
Next up were local favourites, and clearly from the buzz of anticipation that ran through the audience as they got up to kick off their set, very well supported outfit, The Strands. They blasted straight into it with some huge, crunchy sounding guitar licks that were pushed forward by a very tight and constantly pounding rhythm section. These lads definitely brought with them a swagger and arrogance, but one which was completely backed up by their sound. With a confident and at times compelling front man, surrounded by John Squire meets Jimmy Page guitar sounds, it was hard not to be impressed with what The Strands are all about and the ease at which they appear to be pulling it off. Although perhaps at times straying into Madame Helga-esque Stereophonics, when they do hit the right notes it's not only very watchable, but more importantly fantastic to listen to.
