We are open to the public for walk ins daily from noon to midnight.

HOW CAN I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT AT HVT?

We accept walk in clients EVERYDAY from noon to midnight. Walk in clients are accepted on a first come first serve basis and are subject to artist availability.

We do all our booking for appointments through our website at WWW.HIGHVOLTAGETATTOO.COM where you will find a listing of our artists along with their online portfolios. Once you have chosen the artist you are interested in you may fill out an appointment request which can be found in the CONTACT section. Be aware that these requests get emailed directly to the artist you choose so if you have more than one choice please be sure to send a request to each artist. We would also like to thank you for your patience as it may take some artists longer than others to respond due to the high volume of requests. Please keep in mind that since these requests are sent directly to the artist you choose only they can give you info on the status of your request. We apologize that we cannot help you in this regard through this MySpace page. Thank you for your understanding.

HOW CAN I GET TATTOOED ON THE SHOW LA INK?

If you'd like to apply to get tattooed for the show LA Ink please visit WWW.LAINKCASTING.COM. Please be aware that those requests are reviewed by the casting department and not us here at High Voltage Tattoo therefore we cannot help you out as far as picking you to be tattooed on the show. Only the casting department can do that. So if you would like to possibly appear on the show and get a tattoo and you have an interesting story please visit that website and fill out your application. Good luck!

HOW OLD DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO GET TATTOOED?

We have a strict 18 and over policy here at High Voltage Tattoo. You must be at least 18 years old with valid ID. No exceptions.

HOW CAN I GET A PRICE QUOTE?

Our pricing is not based on an hourly rate, but on a case by case basis - per piece. We take into consideration the subject of the tattoo, the placement on the body, the size, detail, etc. Because of all these factors we do not supply quotes over the phone. We have a $200 shop minimum, but please contact our artists our shop website to discuss details. You can also come in to the shop and talk to one of our shop managers or artists who would be more than happy to help you.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO FIND A PARTICULAR ARTIST IN THE SHOP?

We have 10 tattoo artists currently working at High Voltage Tattoo. The schedules vary from artist to artist so if you are interested in contacting/getting tattooed by a particular artist the best way would be to go to our shop website at www.HighVoltageTattoo.com and fill out the appointment request form found in the CONTACT section. Many artists also have their email addresses available in the ARTIST section below the photos of their tattoos.

DO YOU GUYS SELL T-SHIRTS?

We have several styles of shirts, posters, etc for sale here at the shop. We also have more merchandise available on our shop website (www.HighVoltageTattoo.com) or (www.KatVonD.net) under the MERCH link.

If you have any other questions please visit our website WWW.HIGHVOLTAGETATTOO.COM where you'll find lots of more information.

I want to send in a request for a tattoo and it says to send in a copy of what I want. I know pretty much what I want but would like some input from the artist before is there anyway to set up a consult apt? Especially cause I'd be flying in from Canada and wouldn't want my apt . to get canceled cause of changes. It is really important to me to get this tattoo from somebody I really trust since it's commemorating my twin sons death at birth. Please contact me or tell me the best way to contact you...Thank you

All you need to include is a picture to give the artist an idea of what you want. The artist would definitely discuss with you what you wanted before making the appointment, but it is really helpful to have a start off point. Especially for clients coming from another state or country.....- HVT

Hi,....There is not a set amount of time. It depends on each artist. Since each artist books their own appointments only they would know exactly. For some of our more popular artists a wait time of several months is not uncommon due to the extremely high volume of requests they receive. Thank you for your patience.....- H.V.T.

Hi,......I suppose you're all over-booked, it must be hard to get an appointment right away after demanding. ......I'm french (from Lille, north of France) and I'm planning with my fiancé to go to California in summer 2010, as we're huge fans of body mods and so tattoo art, and we admire your work, we'd love to get each a tattoo from one of you.............So I'd like to know when should we ask for an appointment, knowing that it might take some times before we can get one, if we wanna be tattoed during summer 2010.............Thanks.

We take walk-ins everyday so unless you have something very extensive and large that you want tattooed the odds of you being able to walk in for an appointment are good. We always recommend that you come closer to the beginning of the day as your odds are better of getting in than at the end of the day. Please read the answers above for more details on walk-ins, pricing, and making appointments.........- H.V.T.

Hi Zach -..
....You're still a little young to be requesting an appointment. It wont really take 2 years to get an appointment. Most of our artists can get you in fairly soon after you submit your request. The only ones that take longer to respond are Corey and Kat due to the high volume of requests they receive. You should give either of them several months to get back to you. Hope this helps.....
....- HVT..

Hey! After reading through the FAQ and the comments I just had another question.

I'm interested in coming to High Voltage Tattoo about a year from now (August 2010), and am wondering when I should fill in the appointment request. I know you can't deal with requests or the status of requests here, but you've mentioned that some artists such as Kat and Cory take longer than others, and may take up to a year or longer to reply to an appointment request. I'm looking to book my appointment with Nate, and I just wanted to know if anytime is too early to send the appointment request. Or to shorten it up, can I send a request now, if I wish to have the appointment a year from now, can we book that far in advance?

Thanks!

Most of our artists get to their requests in a pretty timely manner. For Kat & Corey it's a little bit different. Because they are featured on LA Ink more people have come to know about them which is why they receive more requests. Sine the requests are sent directly to each artists the best way would be to email them directly and ask. Each artist is different as far as how far out they book. For example Kat only books 2 months out at a time (which is another reason why it takes her so long to respond). Other artists book out different lengths of time. Nate is pretty good about answering his emails quickly so you shouldn't have any trouble getting a response with an answer to your question.

Kat does tattoos by appointment only. Only Kat would know exactly how long the list is as the requests get emailed to her, but yes a wait time of several months to a year to receive a response is not unheard of. Even before Kat started to appear on the show her waiting list was about that long. But she only books out appointments 2 months in advance so once she responds to an approved request the appointment usually happens pretty soon after that. Also, during a filming season she gets through the requests a lot slower than if she's not filming so it can vary. Thank you for your patience...
....We do make sure to keep artists available for walk-ins everyday at the shop. They are limited to availability and we always recommend that if you are coming in for a walk-in that you come in early as the artists get booked up pretty quickly. ..

Hi, I read you have a $200 minimum for a tattoo, would that be for just a small, no color tattoo, or would that be up to the the artist's discretion? Also, do you have gift cards...I would be interested in purchasing a gift card for a friend of mine...
....Thank you so much,....Stephanie..

Yes, $200 is the shop minimum. No, we do not do gift cards for tattoos because all tattoo requests must be approved by the artist prior to being booked. We would hate for someone to purchase a gift card for someone to get a certain tattoo by a certain artist and it is not something that they would do.

I was watching L.A Ink a couple of weeks ago, and saw Nikko do a couple of tattoos as a guest artist. My boyfriend's dog died earlier this afternoon, and he's had the dog for 16 years. He's really wanting a tattoo of her, and is wanting Nikko. I was wondering how to book an apt with him. I checked his myspace and even sent him a message, but no response. Please get back to me, thanks...

No. We never reuse needles. They are disposed of after one use and picked up by a medical waste disposal service.

If you are looking to get tattooed specifically by Kat you should fill out the appointment request form on the High Voltage website. You can still fill it out if you are from another country. Kat gets requests from all over the world all the time so it shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure to include your correct contact info such as email address and phone.

Hi my name is Cristina. this past march my step uncle Tony Sanfilippo passed away and we have a huge very close family so it was/still is very devastating. he was an incredible person and.. ill get to all that later on im sure if were chosen to be on the show. (i know you guys arent the ones who choose)

pretty much what was decided is that those of us that are old enough to get tattoos all want to get a tattoo in his memory. we've all decided that we want to get a feather and maybe the words "making memories" somehow around it, but i know it's very important to his wife and kids that the tattoos be perfect.. we were just recently talking about how important it is to all of us that we get great tattoos when we realized we were watching LA Ink and it dawned on us how awesome it would be to tell his story and ours on tv (it really is a funny story of why itll be a feather)

so what the problem is, is that we wont be able to go to LA until next year some time because were going to be going to disneyland anyway, so i wanted to know if we could make an appointment this early in advance. the other problem is that i noticed on the casting website you can only input one name at a time, and there will be at least 4 or 5 of us wanting to be tattood (none of the tattoos will be that big im sure). ive never seen that on the show before but i think it would be such a fantastic experience for all of us to sing tony's praises on tv and would mean so much to his wife and kids if this really worked out.. please reply it would mean the world to us if this was in any way possible.

thank you

Hi. I just had a quick question that I dont think has been answered here, yet. I would like to have a tattoo by Kat, preferably in August of 2010, but that is a bit flexible. Are there certain months that the show films? I would like to know because i think knowing which avenue to submit my request, either LA INK or the High Voltage site, would be good. I would prefer to do it on the show but a tat by Kat would be worth it off camera too.

Hi Kat!
I have been tuning into the show and find you and your artistic talents remarkable!!
Since I do not live in California, it would be impossible to get a tat from you but I am asking if you do "long distance" sketches? I have a great artist here in NY and would like him to do my next tattoo from your sketch. Would this be possible, do you or have you considered doing this? I am serious about this and am looking forward to your answer. Hopefully it is a YES!
